We all have dreams and a vision about where our lives should be. But why is it so difficult for us to actually manifest those dreams into reality?
In the following article, I've wrote down few questions that you can use as journalling prompts. These questions will help you get really get clear about the details of your ideal future, and how you can make those dreams come true.
So grab a pen, your journal, and get comfy! Here is your first question (answer as truthfully as you can!)
1. If you could snap your fingers and create your own reality with zero effort, what would you create for yourself?
Describe the following : How would you look, act, be? Who would you be around? What kind of lifestyle would you lead and where would you live? What job would you have (if you even want to work)? How much money would you make? How would you FEEL?
Get super precise about the details of this answer, the more detail you have, the better. Don't filter anything out. We want to find out what are your true desires if you had absolutely no restrictions.
Now, It's super easy to visualize a dream, but what makes a dream worth pursuing is understanding the REAL reasons behind it.
For the second question, answer this :
2. What are the needs you are trying to meet with those goals?
What is it about that thing that really makes you feel alive? Get clear about the hidden and obvious motivations behind all of those desires. Be honest with yourself, and write your answers from a non-judgemental stance. It's okay if some of these answers seem "wrong" to you. Also : Underline the things that you simply want because you've never had them.
When you understand what you want, and more importantly, WHY you want what you want, it is way easier to take action and create intentions to get to your goals.
After the second question, you may start to realize that some of your goals are not coming from the heart, but from a place of ego. Know that it is OK for you to still pursue "ego" goals (that is part of being a human being), but keep in mind that if you do, you may always feel like satisfaction is always "beyond your reach".
Once you decide what you want to pursue, ask yourself the following question :
3. How is that reality different from the one that I am living now?
Things you should focus on for that answer are noticing what you have that is already close to what you want, and what is completely different from what you want at this moment. Again, focus on the details. You may realize that you are not so far from some of your goals!
Know that it's okay to want something different than what you have. In the spiritual circles, we often guilt each other by spreading the message that we should be grateful for what we have now. Gratitude is possibly the most powerful spiritual practice on earth, but know that it's okay to appreciate what you have while simultaneously wanting greater things.
Finally, the last question is :
4. What can I do to bridge the gap between where I am now, and where I want to be?
The first thing you should focus on, is shedding everything that is holding you back (healing), the second part is figuring out what you need to do and who you need to become to realize those dreams (planning).
Healing and self discovery takes time, patience, and work. Things you can actively do to heal : meditate, journal, therapy, healthy habits, reading personal development books, workshops, alternative therapies, etc. These are all ways for you to really get to the bottom of what's holding you back. You are also welcome to browse this website to find tips and videos about how to heal your life (it is my biggest passion!)
Really let go of all these limiting beliefs, people, situations and behaviours that are keeping you from becoming the greatest version of yourself.
(Book recommendation : read "excuses be gone - wayne dyer")
Finally, plan. Write down your goals. Do manifestation exercises. Get clear about your plan and break down your actions into smaller actions. Do what it takes to form great habits that help energize and inspire you. Take classes. Read books about your passion. Meet people that are successful in what you are passionate about. Talk to yourself in positive and loving ways.
If you answer them honestly, these 4 writing prompts will totally help you get clear about why you feel unsatisfied and what you need to do. Now that you know what it really takes, get out there <3 And let me know how it goes! - Mandy
